Raw Notes

Because my dad still watches Raw, I usually catch bits and pieces of it when I'm at my parents' house on Mondays.

At around 9:40-ish, Jerry Lawler was hit with the RKO by Randy Orton. By 10, Lawler was back at the announce booth. I don't think it's a good idea to have one of your announcers, even if it is a ring legend like Lawler, take your champion's finisher and then be back in the booth that evening, especially 20 minutes later.

Jericho is back. I don't keep up with ratings news and whatnot, but that was a pop-the-ratings return and I suppose Jericho is being brought back to raise the ratings. I enjoyed seeing it, being a Jericho fan since his ECW TV champion days. Unfortunately it fell kind of flat, but it's hard to bring someone in as a megaface like that, given that Jericho was booked into alternating between heel and face on what felt like a montly basis during his previous WWE tenure. He has catchphrases, but the fans aren't trained to chant along like they would be if it were the Rock or "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The faux-cyberhacker montage also took way too long and killed some of the momentum between seeing Jericho clothesline the guy running the torch and when the pyro went off. Also, that haircut is terrible. Shoulda grown it out or had some extensions put on. Regardless, I expect Jericho to be turned heel and jobbing to The H by WrestleMania.
