Random thought

When rapper Kool Keith dies, we'll probably see a glut of posthumous releases that would rival 2Pac's. Every time I go to the local (read: approximately an hour away) independent music store, I think I see a new release under his name.

Between his numerous aliases (such as Dr. Octagon, Dr. Dooom), his prior work with the Ultramagnetic MCs, his many theme albums (Dr. Octagonocologyst, Black Elvis/Lost In Space, The Undertakerz, & Deisel Truckers), and his solo projects for small labels (Matthew, The Lost Masters), I imagine that somewhere on the West Coast there's a warehouse full of unreleased Kool Keith material, under the ownership of maybe an easy half dozen different record labels.

Incidentally, check out Deisel Truckers. It's tightly constructed under the vigilant production of Kutmaster Kurt, probably the only other producer since DJ Qbert to really "get" Keith (Dan the Automator made a hearty attempt, though).
