Honestly, I have nothing to say about Norman Smiley. At least when I was considering him, the dialogue in my head was “Okay, Norman Smiley or Orlando Jordan? Smiley or Jordan? The “big wiggle” or Vincent 2k5?” I went with Smiley.

The goods on Smiley: The crowds seemed to like him. He did have his moments of inspiration when he was pursuing the Hardcore championship in WCW; hell, if nothing else, he inspired one of my favorite Bam Bam Bigelow moments, when the Beast told Smiley that he would have a “scientifical” match with him.

The bad: The “big wiggle” was the most god-awful thing to watch; I can’t believe, as much as gayness is reviled in our community, that a move pretty much inspired by buttfucking was as over as it was.

Oh, well, Smiley won out over Jordan. The balance of the universe is restored, huzzah huzzah.
