I was talking to a guy on my caseload today, and during the course of conversation he said "nigger." I reacted with surprise, more from its presence in the context of the discussion than this guy actually saying it (pretty small-town minded kinda guy).
He responds with my favorite justification: "C'mon, you know what I mean. White people can be niggers too. We just call 'em 'whiggers.'"
This made me think: What I remember of my history, "nigger" was the bastardization of the word "Negro." Does that then mean that "whigger" is the bastardization of ... "Whegro?"

The "N" word

Ah, yes, the ignorant justifications of racism when a simple "look, I like to call 'em 'niggers'" will do just fine. I do have to say that the usual justification is to argue that "niggers" are the black version of "white trash," although that is easily countered with "why not just say 'black trash' instead of 'niggers'?" You can watch as the gears grind to a halt in the racist's head while they ponder that connundrum.
This justification fails, however, when one considers the meaning of "w[h]igger" to be "a white person who dresses or acts in the manner of a sterotypical black hip-hop person, and traditionally a 'wigger' has little to no actual connection with hip-hop culture aside from what he has seen on MTV." "Wigger" is not simply a euphemism for "white trash" unless the implication is that black people who are a part of hip-hop culture are by default "niggers" because they aren't acting white enough. At this point the argument has attained maximum spin and can now be used to drill through the thick, impenetrable bone-like mass that replaced the brain of the homo racistus during evolution.
I have, from time to time, called Jake Palumbo a "Wegro" in the de-bastardized sense of "wigger," though, so this is the first instance of "Wegro" I have seen outside of my own usage. Great minds think alike.
And that said, from the use of "nigger" I cannot ascertain the man's height, nor weight, nor educational level, but something tells me I'd be on the money with this prognostication: he voted for Bush.

Of course, since Bush personally blew up the levees in New Orleans to make it harder on the African-American race, I can see how you would think that.
Oh, come on now. That's just crazy talk. George Bush has never personally done anything in his life. Bush would have had his father pull some strings to have it done for him.
