I was waiting on my prescription at CVS, and while perusing their shoddy magazine selection, I was tempted to pick up the latest issue of "Maxim," the magazine for men who aren't allowed to have porn (I think that's their unofficial tagline).
Anyway, there's an interview with Fergie, that singer with the Black Eyed Peas who sucks. In it I found the most interesting quote:
"I may not have the type of voice you like, but I can sing. You can't take that away from me, 'cause singing is a gift from God, and when people say I can't sing, it's kind of like insulting God."
Okay, so let me get this straight. The lady who misspelled the title of her own album (it's "Duchess" ... douche*), and pissed on herself while on stage, is now passing the blame for her shitty talent to God?!
Wow, that ho's got some balls.
*Unless it's a tribute to Dutchess county in New York. Which I doubt.

As a duly ordained minister, I'm pretty fucking sure that God wants absolutely nothing to do with the abomination that is "My Humps." That's not even music. And that's not even hyperbole. If I had been the producer that they took that gibbering bullshit to, I would have slit all of their goddamned throats Phil Spector-style.
That is a very good point herr Joshua. For my money, "My Humps" is up there with "Milkshake" for worst song of the 21st Century.
One does have to wonder how Fergie can launch a career based on a mediocre body and an even worse singing voice. Maybe one day she can actually sing a song without some sort of innuendo about sex.
You know, this little interview has so much mileage for "fish in a barrell" comedy (e.g. "If we insult God by saying Fergie can't sing, who do we insult when we say that she can't rap either?").
But on the bigger issue under discussion here, I'm convinced that if you play "My Humps," "My Milkshake," and "Laffy Taffy" - which Ghostface Killah once called "garbage," citing it as an example of what's wrong with hip hop now - simultaneously, the seventh seal will be broken and the Apocalypse will be upon us.
