The new podcast is HERE~!

January 2007: "Live Transmission From The Eiffel Tower"
(now linked up the right way)

The breakdown follows below.

0:00 – 1:20: Vincent Price shows off his "Tingler," while tension mounts, leading to …
1:20 – 7:01: "Hurry Hurry" by Strong Arm Steady, to fade out; I duplicated the chorus a couple of extra times in the first part, 'cause I was going a whole different direction at first, but changed my mind & didn't want to take the extra parts out for fear of screwing the mix up.
7:01 – 7:15: John Cleese peels caps & splits wigs, while Frankenstein takes on all challengers.
7:15 – 11:36: "Burt Reynolds" by Jake Palumbo
11:36 – 14:41: "Never Called You Crazy" by Galactic
14:41 – 14:45: Ide from the Science Patrol lays down a scientific truth.
14:45 – 18:05: Z-Trip excels in this mix of Christina Aguilera vs. AC/DC, that I wish I could take credit for, while Adrock takes us into …
18:05 – 20:58: "Can't You See" by Waylon Jennings, backed by Jurassic 5's "Hey" (I made this.)
20:58 – 23:56: "Mad World" from the "Donnie Darko" soundtrack
23:56 – 28:05: "Silence & I" by Vinnie Paz, King Syze, and Celph Titled
28:05 – 28:13: See you guys in 30.

How about "Science Gone Pod(cast)"?

Regardless, hooray!

(This was a comment from the earlier announcement about the podcast, for any latecomers.)

I didn’t get this until I already put everything up. I went with naming each podcast after whatever might be going on the day that it’s completed. Just so happens, Jan 12 was the anniversary of the first radio broadcast from the Eiffel Tower. But I’ll probably go ahead and post these under the subject of "Science Gone Pod(cast)" from here on out.

So, d'load it, everyone, and post your opinions. Be brutal if you must; I can take it. Also make note if you have any problems getting it downloaded.

WTF? Yousendit? Seriously, I have hosting. It has plenty of space and bandwidth. I think this file could be downloaded approximately 9600 times before it ate up the available bandwidth.

Sorry, sorry ... I totally forgot. I was kinda caught up in the excitement of just getting it uploaded ... even as gay as that sounds.

Yeah, well, it's all good. I've actually already uploaded it, you can change the link if you want. Link URL here. I'm gonna link it on the SGM site page. We really need to find a purpose for that.

Enjoyed it quite a bit. Good job with the Jennings/J5 mix, although the timing error may be correctable in Audacity. Most contemporary audio editors of that nature have something for that purpose. Propellerheads' Reason has an autosnap feature that fixes it for you, but Reason is also an expensive pro-editor/composer.

That "Mad World" song is painfully beautiful, much like Donnie Darko's girlfriend.

Yeah, I didn't have to cut off the Jennings guitar loop, 'cause right before the drums kicked in, it's painfully obvious. I thought about going back and redoing it, but I figured, "hell, I'm an amateur, it flows, I'm fine." But I'm going to definitely pay more attention to the next one. Glad you liked it.

The flow of "Hey" into "Mad World" is one of those little things that just happened, and that I like about the mix.

Oh, and I changed the link. And ...

We really need to find a purpose for that.

I certainly agree. It's too valuable a resource to let it go unattended.
