Be warned
This week I travel to the American Historical Association Annual Meeting to have three job interviews and two meetings with publishers about turning my dissertation into a book. (They are actually really good publishers also! I have a third one that I am going to approach myself, so the process should be started for my first book) I wanted to warn everyone that you can expect lots of observations on the profession, lack of professionalism, Atlanta traffic, long coffee lines, stupidity in the next couple of days. Pray for me that the interviews go well.

First meeting. A respected academic press would like to publish my book manuscript. Proposal for full consideration due in two weeks.

Awesome! I'll so buy the book if it's published ... even (breathes deeply) if it's at textbook prices.
