On today's Cryptozoological Corner:
"Its eyes can actually rotate within its 'skull,' so the transparency allows the wary swimmer to keep a literal eye on happenings above it, as well as to the sides and directly in front." [more]
I'm of the impression that the quotation marks around the word "skull" in that snippet are wholly unnecessary, because even a skull that's transparent is a skull, not a "skull."

I wonder if we have enough weird scientifical posts & archived info to throw up a new tag (heh, as if we need another one) for those? Because tagging "Current Events" and "What the Frig?" seem to just miss the mark.
I'm quite fond of "Science, Ho!" for some reason.
1) Jesus H. Christ. That's all I have to say
2) If Science Gone Mad is truly a research laboratory, then you definitely need a Science-related tag.
"Science, Ho!" works for me.
I think they put skull in quotes because it doesn't have a skull separate from the rest of the body, like it's just one body. I don't know shit about fish anatomy and I'm not looking it up, but maybe that's the issue.
But when they show fish skeletons in cartoons they have skulls.
My tag word is "evillute" I didn't know Lute Olson was evil.
