Looks like Vasquez is being traded to Arizona after all. Screw the Yankees. I hated them already and now they are adding to their bad reputation. Players should only play for the Yankees if they want to whore themselves out for a check from a team that has no respect for them or their family. Of course, if you look at some of their acquisitions in recent years, you can see the caliber of players that they draw (i.e. Chris Hammond). Sure they'll get the big name guys...but the supporting cast is lucky to have a job.

Screw the Yankees

I don't have a problem with the rampant spending from Steinbrenner, because teams like the Reds and Pirates with fire-sale owners won't pay for even a mediocre baseball club and turn it over to the big spenders, like the Yanks and the Sox and the Braves. And when you're buying players like Steinbrenner does, you're wasting money as often as not. Look at what he's paying Giambi to warm the bench. No one is worth A-Rod's money, not even Bonds. Not to mention chemistry issues. The Marlins and Angels prove you can put together a good, solid team on the cheap that can win day in, day out and when it counts, so let the Yankees buy every great player they can.
