Celebrity Birthday--Aug, 2

I am going to start a daily blog on celebrity birthdays and pick a celebrity i would like to discuss who has a birthday on the day the blog was published. The celebrities do not have to be alive.

Today is Carroll O Connor.

I really enjoyed "All in the Family". I liked how it would express a guy that was fed up with is surroundings and reflected racism during that time. The show pushed the envelope and was considered a classic. His chair is in the Smithsonian museum.

"In the Heat of the Night". He displayed that he could be a dramatic actor as well. I also know that during the show his real lief son commited suicide and he was also a star on the show.

What other memories or moments would you like to share on Carroll O' Connor.

Who will I pick for tomorrow , Aug. 3?

I used to watch "All In The Family" all the time growing up, 'cause it would come on TBS during the 5-8 pre-primetime slot. I jumped out the chair when the Jeffersons showed up on one episode. And then when Sammy Davis Jr. kissed Archie on the cheek, and O'Connor sold it like he was shot in the face ... good TV. Of course, it would be years later when I would realize what a bigot Archie was. But I still like the cries of "look at dat little midget wrestling de udder little midget right 'dere."

No love for "Archie's Place?"

I just was not that in to "Archie's Place". I mean it was a good show but I never got into it.
