Geico has finally gone too far

First the gecko, then the "good news" campaign ...

... then those fucking cavemen - never mind the news that those slopeheaded abortions have their own show coming up1 - and now, we have these retro-TV ads. And officially, I'm done with Geico; they can't go out of business fast enough.

The ad that's so far the most insulting is the "investigation of Jed Clampett." They review the circumstances of Jed's rise to riches (poor mountaineer, moved to Beverly Hills, bluh bluh bluh). Then, a "detective" uncovers that the true story behind Jed's riches was that he saved a "ton" of money by switching to Geico.

And just something in my head screams, "WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!" When we're closing in on the lowest common denominator to push auto insurance, an item that I think people are pretty sold on or not from the get-go. But on the whole, the advertisement strategies for auto insurance are pretty much shite, so maybe this is just shooting fish in a barrel.

1Am I just imagining things, or do the "cavemenscrib.com" commercials look like a hidden camera at paleolithic rape party?
