One last TOS post and I'm done

But why? For posterity, so that it's out all laid out clearly and no one is confused about the issue. And lord knows we need the hits.

That's not ironic, that's bullshit. (Or as Amy Winehouse would say, "what kind of fuckery is this?")

Look, I don't recall anyone swearing off Southernfried forever. The last exodus was a result of some heavy bullshit and we all walked away calmly and quietly, disgusted by Brent denying credit to Nate for Nate's significant contributions to Southernfried. Brent eventually backed off the comment, but that doesn't change the fact that the comment was what it was and that it was made without much consideration. Also, you'd have to know absolutely nothing about the history of Southernfried not to know it was an outright lie.

Here's why we created Science Gone Mad, why we left Southernfried: it was old, it was tired, it was done. Most attempts at doing something big and interesting died from severe apathy or someone not liking how it was being done but offering no alternatives. The random quote generator was strangled by jealousy. You couldn't swing a cat in that motherfucker without hitting or starting a flame war. And the local backyard wrestlers (no offense to the legit workers), for fuck's sake, kindergarten classes have more dignity and maturity. Speaking of maturity and dignity: Hoss. Brent's own homeboys were shitting on him. But, they brought the hits.

Brent's denial pretty much summed up what Southernfried had become. Yes, it was once a solid board for the purpose of entertaining those that knew about it, but by that point it was washed up. We already had SGM, so we put all of our efforts into this and look what it has become: a world-renowned Research Laboratory and Multimedia Empire.

But no one said they'd never go back and I still check it from time to time. I saw a post of a dubious nature, laughed about it, posted something funny about it here, laughed some more, and it went from there. What we did earlier this week was a dick move, but we've all got the capacity for dick moves. Plus it was entertaining. And I was impressed with the smug response from Southernfried: we need the hits, love/hate relationship, Lawson doesn't read this site but he knows we have lots of posts (25 out of 790 IS LOTS!)(also that's 3.16% of the total posts)(Austin 3.16% says I can't really do math or estimations) about Southernfried which was information he got from the grapevine (is there a third website that we don't know about devoted to knocking SF and SGM which refers to them as That Other Site and us as That Other Other Site? Is it a MySpace page? Does Tony Givens post there?) Also, that entire thread has been deleted now. So, so sad. WHERE ARE WE GOING TO GET THE HITS?

What I'm trying to say is that we won. We got the last laugh and it's over. This is the last post tagged That Other Site from me.
