Now I know why Nate hasn't done that in three months. Audacity is a pain in the ass and it's laborious all the same. I didn't even bother with the neat interstitial spoken clips and whatnot. I just grabbed 8 songs, chopped a bit out of "Me and Mr. Jones" for the intro, stuck the bit from Deadwood at the end and edited Beavis and Butthead into the Mad Scientific Production clip. The entire thing took about 3 and a half hours from start to finish.
Since the A Fine Frenzy post has been pushed down, I put that album on my mp3 player and tried to listen to it at work, but it's too laid back for that. From what I heard, she sounds like Harriet Wheeler of the Sundays if Harriet yarled when she sang.
Very, very cool. Loved every minute of it ... DEFINITELY dug "Imperial Hubris" (man, that beat .... so damn awesome).
This has inspired me to try my hand at making one of these again. I placed some product orders for source material this weekend, so maybe I'll have one cranked out by the fall.
Again, excellent job, Rev.
Word up daddy-o, nice podcast, that Battles stuff is cool.
