In movie news …

Two bits caught my eye, while reading news online during lunch.

Liam Neeson & Bradley Cooper cast for A-Team film

There is only one answer for who should play Sergeant Bosco Albert Baracus: Ving Rhames. And Liam Neeson is as inspired a choice to play Hannibal as, say, Dennis Quaid was for the role of General Hawk in the "GI Joe" movie.

Holy crap, “The Expendables” looks like it’ll be the best action film ever made!

I mean, seriously, read that cast! If you aren't at least moderately impressed, then you have no love for action films. Five words:

Fuck you, Tarantino’s "Inglourious Basterds."

I like the idea of casting Liam Neeson as Hannibal Smith because it gives the impression that the A-Team movie will be given a serious treatment in the vein of the first two or three seasons rather than the campy bullshit of the last two seasons. As for B.A. Baracus, Terry Crews would be a better choice given that he is more in that "muscle-headed yet roughly thoughtful manner" of Mr. T than Rhames is.

I had heard quite a while back that Tommy Lee Jones was in line to play Hannibal, with Jim Carrey being considered for Murdoch and George Clooney as Face. No real word on the BA decision at that time.

Terry Crews is a good call; I just hope they don't go the easy (and relatively inappropriate) route of Michael Clarke Duncan.

Hell, Bumpy Knuckles made a good BA, so it's really not a hard role to pull off.
