If Jonathan Swift had written "A Modest Proposal" in this modern era, he would have had to include a "do not try this at home" style disclaimer.
That would keep anyone arrested for cooking infants and toddlers for a fine dining experience from handily building a defense that implicated Swift, his agent, his publisher, et al. as just as guilty, because they suggested such.
Sad part is, said perpetrator would probably win a suit like that, and the judge would call Swift irresponsible in his choice of literary subject.
