A sign we are getting old

This is kind of mind-blowing

The following albums were all number one at some point in 1991 - 20 years ago:
To the Extreme - Vanilla Ice
Out of Time - R.E.M.
Metallica - Metallica
Niggaz4life - N.W.A.
Use Your Illusion II - Guns N Roses
Achtung Baby - U2
Dangerous - Michael Jackson

Bear in mind, we also saw the release of Pearl Jam's Ten, Nirvana's Nevermind, Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger, Apocalypse 91: the Enemy Strikes Black by P.E., and Blood Sugar Sex Majik from the Chili Peppers.

1991 was a great year for music and to think that I bought some of these albums when they came out, on cassette mind you, from a record store in the mall that has been out of business for over a decade...and listened to them at home on a dual-player boombox because I didn't yet have a car (and couldn't drive until October of that year anyway) makes me wonder how everything changed so much.

Oh, "Apocalypse '91;" that was the greatest album ever.

I just turned 36 about a week ago; this post put it all in perspective.
